Last week Five Rings Jiu Jitsu hosted a week long Camp for Juniors ages 6 - 16 - and it ROCKED! ! !

Highlights:

- Over 18 campers participated in the week long camp
- 15 hours of instruction in one week
- Phenomenial learning curves and retention from the campers ... they really got after it. Extraordinary effort!
- everyone did amazingly well with the Figure 8 Pendullums ... we looked like pro's by the end of the week
- Coach Eric Jetton - a 3x All-American wrestler and Jiu Jitsu Black Belt came in to teach stance, rocker step fundamentals, and how to sprawl
- Coach Luis Cisneros - an assistant wrestling coach from Liberty High School and a staff member of the Hillsboro Boys and Girls Club showed the duck-out and a number of ways to turn an opponent in quarters bottom
- We had four full-time coaches on staff - Coach Tom, Coach Eric, Coach Chuck, and Coach Jessica. It was a a fantastic student to teacher ratio
- Friday featured a team Jiu Jitsu tournament and a Fitness Olympics ... both were fantastically fun
- Tons of laughter, playing, and good times

camp feedback

My son Xavier attended the camp.

He loved it. An amazing curriculum for an adult seminar let alone a kids camp. He had been struggling with take downs for a while, but having an all american wrestler come in and teach take downs with the kids for a few days made a profound impact. Everyday of the camp he came home and was bouncing off the walls with all the cool stuff he had learned and done.

Funny thing, he's been doing BJJ with Tom since he was 5; the more he does it, the more jazzed he gets. Another couple of years, and he's going to be scary good.  And the character ed the kids get is unique. Xavier is the toughest kid on his football team this year, the best conditioned, and the most resilient, because of his time at 5Rings.

Can't say enough good things about Tom's junior program. World class. Seriously.

A really happy dad

Many thanks to all the coaches for a great summer camp!
My daughter Haskelle has been looking forward to it all summer. Last year the camp
raised Haskelle's Jiu Jitsu to a higher level in Jiu Jitsu, this year may have done it
again. I can see she has learned new techniques and polished techniques she had already learned.

Haskelle had a blast, she keeps saying how much fun camp is.

Summer Camp delivers big...

Three of my children (2 boys, 1 girl) attended 5RJJ’s Jiu Jitsu Camp.  While there was lots of exciting Jiu Jitsu technique and application, Greco Roman Wrestling for Jiu Jitsu was the special flavor of the week that Coach Tom and Coach Eric mixed up for the kids.  Their excitement grew each day as they learned great wrestling for Jiu Jitsu from two outstanding and enthusiastic local coaches.  You wouldn’t believe the amazing sprawl that my 7 year old daughter can throw on if shoot for her leg.  My kids will be back for more Jiu Jitsu goodness next summer!
