Thursday, December 13, 2012, was a monumental day for the Five Rings Jiu Jitsu Youth Programs - it was our first Promotion Ceremony. It was nothing short of FANTASTIC!

Huge Congratulations to Ribeiro Lovato NW - we took second for the second year in a row at the Oregon Open last week!!!

It couldn't have happened without everyone coming together and working as a team. Great job to all the coaches, competitors, and the support staff! ! ! 

RLNW metal count: Gold metals - 19; Silver metals - 17; Bronze metals - 35. Terrific work.

Five Rings Jiu Jitsu was very proud to host Professor James Puopolo on Saturday, August 18, for a three hour seminar. James is the Co-Head Coach and Owner of Salem-Keizer BJJ. He's an emerging competitor on the international scene and a fantastic coach. He focused his three hours on cross-grip guard.

Ribeiro Training Camp at Pagani's Beautiful New Academy - Brazil 2012

Saulo Ribeiro lead a ten day training camp in preparation for the Masters / Seniors International Championships + Rio Open held in Rio de Janiero from July 16 - 25. The Ribeiro Association camp was held at Professor Rodrigo Pagani's new Dojo - which is beautiful - and had a real international feel with over 18 visitors from abroad and some twenty Ribeiro athletes from Brazil all training together. It was a FANTASTIC experience - with an all-star cast of instructors and athletes in the room.

This year July 7th made for an action packed Independence Day celebration as close to 50 Ribeiro Lovato NW Team members converged on Bonney Lake, Wa for the latest installment of The Revolution. Ribeiro Lovato NW athletes came from all over the Pacific Northwest - Portland (Five Rings), Salem-Keizer (Salem-Keizer BJJ), Seaside | Astoria | and Idaho (Seaside BJJ), Seattle (Miller's Martial Arts), Vancouver BJJ (Ribeiro Vancouver). It was very cool!

This past weekend the record was shattered as 3200 competitors made their way to the Bren event center in Irvine California for the 2012 Pan American Games, making it the biggest jiu jitsu event in history.

With the coming of September, Five Rings is taking the opportunity to update it's Jiu Jitsu schedule. We are proud to offer over 34 instructional and formal training opportunities a week - that's the benefit of being a professional / full-time academy.
